My attempt at some macro shots

I was just playing around with my Christmas present. Although they are not worthy of Nat. Geographic, I was pretty impressed for a Point-&-Shoot.

Nice shots. I have a 5meg casio exilim and can't figure out how to get results like that even when in macro mode. Any pointers?

Thanks guys. After researching SLR's, I pretty much gave up the idea of dropping $2-$3K on lenses, etc. I am using a FUJI S2000HD and am so far very impressed. It was a gift so I am not sure how much it cost but my guess is <$300. It has some pretty cool functions such as super macro, manual mode, program mode, customer mode, etc.

I am no expert but one thing I found essential to keep it perfectly still even with a tripod was to use the self timer. Also any angle through the glass will distort the image slightly.
