My azoox aquarium is almost complete

WOW! You should get Tank of the month. That is one of the most beautiful things I think I've ever seen. The colors are so vibrant and I love the rockwork. I have rarely been interested in Azoo tanks, but you may have changed my mind. Spectacular effort.

As promised: new growth evidences :) sorry for bad quality, but those guys are allways finding darkest places to grow in:

Nice! This is only the 2nd example I've seen of dendronephthya spawning successfully in captivity. The other was from Claude. Do you know for sure that this was the result of spawning and not from the parent dropping off some polyps?

I'm not sure about the dendro, it grew from a very small thing and I have same baby-corals in several places in my aquarium, but I did not notice any spawning event.

The hardest part about azoox aquarium is making a good photo with absolute lack of light. Managed making some close-ups today. Here they are:

I was in a local fish store today and got blueberry gorgonya (will post photos as soon as it will get opened). Think it will be real chalange keeping the coral alive. I'll appriciate anny info/tip about this coral.

Thanks in advane :)

My only advise is, best of luck. Never could keep those alive. Seems like you should be able as the polyps are big enough for our food. Damn frustraing because one of those can make a whole tank.

Blueberry

Blueberry

Actually two corals: one big and smaller one that I've separated from the big one. It took me almost a week to make the polyps get partially open, but now corals are looking better each day. I direct feed them 3 times a day in addition to the scheduled feeding and I've reduced the temperature to 20degree (celsius).

Here they are:

Well, I have had mine for around 9 months - It loves DT's Phyto, I place arround 30ml a day to keep it open. Also the flow is reflected off the glass with a open back cave just behind it... I have to have this coral un-attached as I have to take out to brush any algie off weekley (using a sable brush).

R3TR0, Your coral is looking great comparing to what I have. That gives me hope that one day my will be Ok :) I don't have a possibility of getting DT's products, but I have source of live nanochloropsis and live rotifers, hope that it's enough.

Is your coral growing/generating new polyps?

It is, when i first got him, base was black now a nice orange with loads of polyps, extra branches are growing off it but strangely out of the rear of the coral.

I must note that the only polyps on the reverse is from new groth, otherwise it looks quite bare. So ideal flow would be from a wavemaker like a vortech.

Some progress

Some progress

After two weeks both corals are looking much better, polyps are fully extended for almost 24/7. Polyps are far from being healty, but slowly recovering.

Here's how corals are looking today:

I wish you good luck on the blueberry, many have tried and none have succeeded (as far as I know). R3TR0's gorgonian is looking promising but way too early to tell at 9 months.
So good luck!

What about an new FTS?

looking good, what are you feeding, how often and is it broadcast?

I have no alternative but to use DT's which is broadcast fed, I have tried cheaper alternative but no joy. I'm trying to source FM products but surprising how hard to find a reliable stockist (noting locally, just internet).

Also what are your nitrate levels, my blueberry sulks if it drops below 10 or goes above 30?

Your tank looks stunning by the way
