My B&W Clowns are driving me crazy

These two have turned my tank into the moon's landscape.

They won't stop digging and creating craters.

Anything besides getting rid of them to stop?

I know what you mean....my b/w occi's do the same thing, kicking up this fine sugar sand & my tank always looks like a snowstorm going on. They're just making their bed & territory...Maybe you could introduce an anemone to the mix & they wouldn't dig in the sandbed as much...?

That is what clowns do, some are worse then others. In fact that was the main reason I sold off my mated Clarkii pair --- too much digging, to the point were it was causing their S. Haddoni to move all that time.

They don't like my RBTA, it moved to the other side of the tank because of all this.

I've got larger size substrate I can put down around their little island.

try putting a open shell near the area they are digging. i think they might be preping the area to spawn. how long have you had them / how old are they?

I've had them for 6 months, the previous owner had them for a couple of years.

Female is approx 3 inches from nose to tail while the male is approx 2 1/2 inches from nose to tail.

They do this and they like cleaning a flat side of the rock they hang out at. I figured they would be prepping but they did the cleaning day 1. They nip a me or anyone else the comes by their little island.

But this has been going on for 6 months now.

I'll try a shell but they have like 4 spots they crater.
