My Bacteria System

NewSalt... Sponge power is a food support supplement for filter feeders. It is also supposed to help with the bacterial population. When I have used it, I have also noticed no difference in corals.

That's good to know. Problem is Majano's like it. I've go to go into my tank tonight with Aptasia-X and wipe some out.

Started Dosing Sponge Power and Phol's Xtra.
My Current Dosing is:
Phol's Xtra: 4ml/day
MB7: 8 drops/day
Coral Vitalizer: 8 drops/day
Biofuel: 6ml/day
Zeo Amino Acids: 6 drops/day
Sponge Power: 6 drops/day
Lugol's: 1 drop/day

My issue is still PO4. I just measured it and it's 0.09. I'm thinking of sticking with my original plan and bumping up the Biofuel to 10ml/day.

I get good results using Kent Lugols solution. I can see the difference in my blue SPS. I to dose 1 drop per day. 180 gallons of water volume.

I'm running a similar setup and scenario, 180+ volume and the following dosing:
Phol's Xtra: 4ml/day
MB7: 1ml/day
*VV: 4 ml/day
CV: 8 drops/day
Sponge Power: 6 drops/day
WM coral snow: 6 drops/day (mixed with CV and Xtra)
Lugol's: 1 drop/day
WM AA: 4ml/ every other day

*For my carbon source I am using a vodka/vinegar mixture (3:1) instead of Biofuel. I was using vodka/sugar/vinegar but noticed some of my corals were not taking well to it so I started using just V/V and things look better.

With an MRC CR-2 Calcium Reactor.

Check the effluent coming from you C-RX for Po4. Some reactor medias can be high in Po4. If the level is high try running just the effluent through a small container of GFO before it goes back into the sump.

I'll have to test that, thanks. What I also did was change from weekly 10g water changes to bi-weekly 5g water changes. I think I'm going to go back to weekly changes, not sure about 5g or 10g though. I'm also going to cut my AAHC to 4 drops/day.

I've been dosing these products now for about 2-1/2 months. I honestly don't know if I see any big benefit. I still have isolated area of hair algea. I can't seem to get my PO4 lower than 0.07. I'm going to do a test tomorrow. My SPS look ok, some look better than others. Some branches on my Red Planet look fantastic, other branches look kind of grayish. I have to millipora's that are supposed to be blue, and look terrible. In fact, a tip broke off of a branch on each milli, and I've yet to see it grow back. Not sure if I should continue to waste my money and time on these additives. Here's my current dosing:
Phol's Xtra: 4ml/day
MB7: 10 drops/day
Coral Vitalizer: 8 drops/day
Biofuel: 8ml/day
Zeo Amino Acids: 3 drops/day
Sponge Power: 8 drops/day
Lugol's: 1 drop/day
Brightwell's Potassion: 2ml/day

I just switched salt to Seachem Reef Salt.

stick with it and try not to change products, it is a time proven process and most of all remember "Bad things happen fast and Good things happen slow in this hobby" Good Luck

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm sticking with it. Checked PO4 last night and it was 0.03.

PO4 is climbing again. Checked last night using distilled water and the PO4 of the distilled water was 0.02. Checked the tank water it was 0.16. I have to try it again using a new test vial. Maybe the other was scratched.
