This is the best SPS macro shot I have been able to take so far. Camera is a Kodak DX7590. Any helpful hints to get my pics even better would be greatly appreciated

looks good to start with.
WB is a bit off try fixing it using a different preset WB setting on the camera or maybe measuring the WB if your camera allows it.You could also do that in post processing and it's more efficient if you shoot RAW.
IT sis abit grainy so I would say cut off on the ISO a bit. Its a tough shot as you have areas in the coral that are underexposed and other ones where you started clipping the highlights.
