my brain coral

well thats funny i have lots of leather and xenia and my brain looks great and all the other stuff in my tank is growing like weeds so i think you are mistaken read more hehehe

well larry that is true you do have both of those in your tank but you also have a different type of brain than mine was and you are also running carbon which nutrilizes the toxins. I have no carbon running in my tank.

well I told you when you got the leather and was told to run carbon and you said you was but I still don't think that was all the problem here you know your tank may not be ready for something like corals yet

I never told you that I was running carbon. The leather that is in the tank right now isn't even the leather we got from you. This leather we got from Mel and have had it for right about 3 months, when we combined it with your leathers in the tank the toxins were too much for the tank so we took them out and placed them in their own tank. I have the book here at the house to show you where it says that the species of brain that we had was more sensitive to the toxins than most other brains. My other inhabitants in my tank are thriving, including the bubble coral, the torch, the zoas, the leather, the motipora caps, the mystery sps, the zenia. Not wanting to argue here just telling you what my wife and I have both read in the past 2 days, and it makes sense as to why the brain died.

I would just bet it was a new wild caught brain since it came from a LFS at the swap and it just plain ol died. Brains are kinda hard to get healthy and make it through all the shipping and bagging and re bagging stresses. But you do need to be more careful in such a small body of water as to what you put in and together. That rock you got from me had been out of water in the heat of the car all day and may have gave you a pretty big ammonia spike for a few days also. Especially if your bio is not keeping up as it is with the ammonia the tank is producing. Either way sorry it died :( I hate to loose something, especially when I first started! Its disharting but not the only brain in the sea!! :)

Thanks Angela, I Agree with you. Everything else is out and happy in there right now and in the future I know what not to put to gether now in a 29 maybe if it was a larger tank it would have done better. Who knows. Well my KFC bowl is calling. TIme to go.
Andy
