I got this just the other day from Liveaquaria.. I had a brain before from them that compared to this- when arrived looked horrible, didn't do well, (followed acclimation to a T both times).. and expired with brown goo...

However Liveaquaria did right by me and I was able to get this guy as a replacement and I just think he's absolutely gorgeous. I am really starting to get into the LPS thing and my 55 is just a few months away from being able to stock :):):)

I also already have some branching frogspawn and trumpet coral.

If anyone has advice on what to keep a sharp eye out for in beauty and color please feel free to give this LPS newb advice :)

I have had one in my Nano for a while. There are times where it will seem all withdrawn andf such, and I just do not know why. But when mine expands, it hangs so that all the "lips" hang all the way down to the sand. I would just say that when it does seem a bit withdrawn or scrunched up, just give it a day or so, and it will come back.

Just keep going with good water params. I feed mine directly twice a week or so with Reef Chili, or Oytster Eggs- seems to really look good afterwards.

I really like this coral... when it looks good, I feel good! Good luck with it!

The coral looks great, and looks to be pretty healthy, just not fully expanded yet. The cyano on the sand around it is a little concerning though. If the tank is new it may just be a cycle that almost every tank goes though. I would keep up on your water changes and keep an eye on your Nitrate/nitrite levels. In addition, if it started putting out feeder tenticals try and feed it something meaty like mysis.

Looks really nice chrisstie, as above though I would clean out that cyano - how long has this tank been running. LPS are quite demanding on water, do you keep a check on your calcium, alkalinity and magnesium levels (as well as the nitrate levels) ?
