My candy cane fell....now it's just not the same

My candy cane was knocked off his rock by a shrimp fighting it for a piece of food. I'm still in the process of finding a permanent placement for it, so I didn't have it glued down yet. That was 3 or 4 days ago and I still haven't seen the full polyp extension I was seeing before the fall and his 5 heads are looking a little deflated. How long is normal for it to recover from it's trauma?

How long was it knocked over for mine normally recovers pretty fast from just falling over but if it was left like that for a decent amount of time then its recovery would take longer.

I have had some (insert curse word here) hermit crabs that knocked my candy cane over once and it was around 8+ hours head first in the sand. Took well over a week for it to return to normal, really ticked me off. Unless there was some major damage taken by it, I would say you are a couple days off from seeing it back to normal yet.

Thanks all. Doesn't seem to have any torn tissue or anything so hopefully it will get over this slump.

yOU COULD STILL GLUE IT TO A LARGER BASE SO IT WON'T GET KNOCKED OVER and then still try different locations. It can only take so much abuse. Good Luck and Happy Reefing!!!

My candycane has fully recovered and is now glued in tight. I didn't have it glued before because I was moving it around to find the best light and flow for it.

Go figure- I look over, and there's my neon candy cane lying in the sand. Dumb luck. He'll be fine. I had a pipe organ close up on me after a fall. He took two weeks.
