I was a 12-15" teal haddoni that I have had for 8 months. It is not 100% under the sand. Can this be good? It is in my SPS tank with near perfect water conditions, under MH and it gets fed regularly.
Should be fine. I am sure that alot of them do this every once in a while. A possibility might be that it could be getting picked on by something and it may be trying to hide though. Someone who knows something about these anemones will hopefully show up on here shortly and shed some light for you. I am no expert so don't go by what I say.
It is not unusual for a haddoni carpet to pull itself under the sand when it is touched. My guess is that one of your fish blundered into it but was able to pull itself away.
It is in a tank all by it's self (satellite tank on my SPS system) with a pair or true percs that host in it. I am glad to hear that this is not uncommon, and hope that it comes out soon. It was wierd to see the empty spot where it was.
