My clam did a rock dive

My Maxima clam has been sitting happily (as a clam?) up on a live rock shelf for months since I put it there. Recently, I noticed the clam had shifted a bit to reveal a fairly large Aptaisia. I micro-dosed the Aptaisia with "Joe's juice" and it was history. Very nearby was a hitchhiker feather-duster (very small) that has continued to thrive. The clam, seems to be displaying its healthy mantle and filtering nicely, but its foot-plate has detached, and tonight, I discovered it had taken a dive to the sand bed 8 inches below its normal perch. Shall I leave it where it is or try and replace it back up on the live rock?

Thanks for the advice!

Normally, the clam would be attached to a rock buried in the sand. Assuming you have strong lighting (I have mine under 400W SE MH lighting), it should be fine on the sand.

Best of luck,

Roy
