My Clown Fish Has Black Spots -- Good Or Bad?¿?

My Clown Fish has black spots on him and I do not know where they came from? I don't think they are good.

I have been feeding him some flake food and occasionally some pellets. I have had the clown for about a week now. He has been eating and looks good. Just recently he started hanging out at the bottom corner of my tank. I did add 2 anemones tho. One a long tentacle anemone and one a GBTA. Dont know if that would cause this. I have not seen the clown swimming around the anemones.

It is not advisable to keep 2 different species of anemone in the same tank. Eventually you may have allopathy as the anemones release chemical warfare on each other. At least use activated carbon. I would remove one, just my 2 cents. The spots are a reaction to the anemone and nothing to worry about.

Sorry, I was wrong, they are from corals stings. OK I was close but I guess close only counts in hreseshoes. I wanted to correct my mistake. Here is where I read it.

You know mine have them too and they host bta's. At least I was on the right track. Thanks chitownclown! So either way no biggie.

Not exactly, they are from different families but share the same class.

my clown has not been anywhere near the LTA yet tho thats what i dont understand

Have you checked where he sleeps at night? Or if he has cruised through but not stopped at the anemones? I think your BTA and LTA are fine together if they are in the 90 you list. I'd be more concerned at chemical warfare over very different species of anemone. bta and lta to me .. I call them cousins.

But yeah a clown will acclimate itself to an anemone.. getting stung a little bit and building up resistance to it then diving right in.

Do you have any corals? I see a softie in the background. He may brush against it. It is nothing to worry about, he'll be just fine.

Yeah i have some zoos, ricordia, kenya trees, i also have a mandran you think he could of got him? and a yellow tang.
