i just noticed today that the colour of our smaller percuila clown is beginning to fade. We have had the pair for about three weeks now...and they both got ich....been using the garlic and Vit C to treat it along with the "no sick fish" stuff and the ich is nearly gone....but he's still not eating very well.....anyone have suggestions on how to make him better??

we have been feeding them frozen brine shrimp....we went to our LFS tonight and they suggested mysis too so we picked some of that up....we're crossing our fingers and hoping it'll like that

Feed EVERYTHING and anything to keep it eating. Sprulina flakes, Formula 1, frozen brine, frozen mysys, frozen blood worms, cyclopeeze, seaweed select. make sure it gets SOMETHING each day. Infact make sure it gets more than enough. make sure you are visually seeing it eat a good amount each day. That is the most important thing when you notice sick fish.

Put a little bit in at a time, make sure you don't overfeed to make sure he eats. Starting a cycle with overfeeding is the last thing to do. Good luck and keep us updated.

Cyclopeze seems particularly irresistable to Clowns. If they're captive raised, the cyclopeze is a common transition food because of the nutrtion, it helps color and the particles are small. It shouldn't be more than about 45% of their diet, though.

If the fish have been stressed from illness, I'd recommend soaking the mysis in a supplement like Selcon or Zoe. Selcon is an amino and fatty acid supplement and Zoe, made by Kent is a vitamin and amino acid supplement based in a spirulina formula. I've had better luck with the Zoe. I don't like putting extra gunk in my tank if I can help it. But when fish or critters have needed a boost, a supplement can really help.

Good luck!

Cathy
