If that truly is your favorite coral, I would place it where it is naturally found, on the sandbed. It will be exponentially more comfortable there. Rock is extremely irritating to Trachyphyllia, especially when expanding/contracting its tissue. HTH

thanks i dont want to put it on the sand bed bc i dont want my goby to put sand all over it so i have it on a rock close to the sand....ive had the coral for a while now and seems to be doing really well.... anyways i am using a metal halide and pc fixture for lighting
