I have had this midas blenny for over a year and it has always stayed put in a shell that I bought when I got the blenny cause it seemed attached to that shell. It was always comical to watch it dart out of the shell to eat and then dart back in ...anyway a week ago , I came home and found the blenny laying against the glass on the opposite end of the tank. I reached in to see if it was still alive and it actually let me touch it before it scurried behind some rocks . Well it has been a full week and the blenny is hanging out all over the tank but has not once gone back into his shell. He does not act interested in food but is not getting thin so he must be eating when I am not watching. He is hanging out behind the powerhead housing most of the time . My perimeters are fine and the clowns are not acting strange but I am concerned about this blenny. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Hubby thought maybe a snail had taken up residence in the shell but I checked and no snail is present. I think my main concern is my tank is more open with the lights up on legs and I am just afraid he will jump out being so close to the top of the tank.
