My crazy urchin hitchhiker.

kryppy

Moved Down
I found him about 4 months ago at the size of a dime. He is about the size of an orange now! I believe he comes from down under, mate. Fastest growing creature I have ever had, and that eye is just creepy!

They get about 8 Inches it is a Black Spiney Sea Urchin. And that is his butt. My Grand daughter loves his bathroom adventures. They are Venemous but dependent on your reactions, like a bea sting. It will not sting you, you will end up forgetting he is in the corner when you are cleaning and ram a hand into him. Happens to me when I forget about him lurking. For me my knuckles get thick and it burns like Hell for about an hour. Other wise harmeless.

I just found him on Live Aquaria! Diadema setosum. I have also seen stuff coming from his 'eye' in the past, but it sounds better than butt if you ask me. ;)

I have picked him up a few times and never been stung. My hands are also really thick. I've never been stuck though, and I will definitely avoid it now!

Hah, Live Aquaria calls it an eyespot.

I wonder if it's photosensitive? Imagine seeing out of your butt...

Not sure if he sees out of it, but I caught him using it for something else..
