My Crocea Clam Keeps Moving

Looking for some advise. I've had a crocea clam for a little over 8 months now and was told that they should be placed on a rock vs the sand. Every time I place him on a rock he will find a way to drop down to the sand. The clam is currently laying on its side in the sand.

Is this normal?

My tank is 125g with running 8 39w T5HO and two 250w MHs. Currently have 15k bulbs in the MH lights.

Lastly, could I have too much flow that's causing him to want to move?

Thanks

never heard that b4 about the rock but you could put him in a small tupperware container with sand to make it less mobile

Crocea clams are actually rock boring clams. Often found in nature buried in a rock with only their mantle extending above the rock. I have found that putting a small flat rock under them buried just under the sand helps.
