this thing is one of the HARDIEST corals ever. It was in a 55g at the beginning of the year, right under the 8x54w fixture. looked horrible for WEEKS, maybe even a month. So I then decided to move it into this aquarium-an 80g bow that had the same light fixture it was just deeper in the aquarium. It perked up and looked like this pic....
I then upgraded my lights a few weeks back to 2x150w MH and 2x54w of actinic T5's. Burnt the fire out of it. the skeleton was showing, the bubbles were just drooping. looked like it got run over by a freight train.
I didn't understand the lights could do this since comparing watts from the two fixture, the MH fixture had fewer watts. but they were frying them so I moved it to the bottom of the tank on the sand, and it now looks like this!!
great beginner coral IMO. since through two near fryings it's still beautiful!!
