I got tired of all the maintenance of my 75g SPS so decided to take it down and sold all the corals, clams. (what a job!) I still have a 15gal nano but wanted to have another tank. I decided on a 20L as I already have a 2 x 65w PC light that would fit. I also had a Aquaclear 20 from a previous tank. From my 75 I had a CPR 18" HO refugium which would also fit. Now all I needed was a tank and stand. The tank was $30 at Pet Smart (yuck) and at a local builder supply liquidator store I found a brand new upper kitchen cabinet in red oak for $25! I had to add a plywood top and stain it, I also banded it with red oak to hide the end grain. I put and extra reinforcement strip on the back and painted the back with some house paint as it was exposed particle board.
I have 2 Rio Seio 600s which I could have used but bought one of the new Tunze Nano streams with magnet. So even with buying that, less than $200 for the whole set up. I put some LR from the old tank and a few frags i found on the bottom. The tank will be all softies in the long run.
