My DIY lighting for my 1G

Hello! So for some background information I've been in this hobby for a few years now and I'm absolutely in love with it. I'm currently a senior in college that moves quite frequently and I'm incredibly busy so having a SW tank of any kind right now is fairly impractical. That being said I love fish and I currently have a beta pictured here with its previous lighting setup:

Admittedly, this worked just fine as the light isn't required to keep anything alive but with that being said I love projects and couldn't help trying to improve my setup.

So here's what I started with:
Ebay project box:

LED group buy 3-up Cree:

I used a computer heat sink that I used but I didn't grab a picture of it individually but you'll be able to see it later pictures.

Here it is all put together:

I hadn't permanently fixed the heat sink in yet so the blue was just a temporary solution.

Here it is doing a heat test. The puck is firmly attached to the heat sink and I can hold it after all day of operation so I figured I didn't need a fan.

And finally over the tank:

So yeah, there it is. When my life becomes more stable I'd love this tank to house a frogspawn or maybe an acro. It's more of a spotlight type thing so I think it would look really nice with just one color in there.

I'd love to hear any questions/comments you might have! Thanks for looking!
