My First Chalice Corals (Jason Fox)

Never really cared for Chalice corals before but decided to give them a try.
First up is Jason Fox Crazy Fox coral. Needs to color up more.

Second one is a maricultured metallic green chalice with red stripes and spots.

Damn dude, your first chalice is a crazy fox? Either you hit to the lottery or you have mammoth sized kahoonas.
Put that thing low in your tank in low/moderate flow and let it settle in. Hopefully it colors up for you.

Great collectors chalice, I've met Jason half a dozen times and I've got about 7 or 8 of his chalices but I never had the guts to spend that much on a one eye frag

So the green and red chalice died as a result of a nasty war with an Aussie lobo. It fell from a rock right next to the other coral. I had never seen corals fight like that. It was insane to say the least.
But the crazy fox is doing alright. I'm still looking for the perfect spot for it. Later on today I plan on going to LFS to pick up some rubble to glue the crazy fox and remove it from the frag plug it's on. The coral was fed yesterday for the first time and seemed to like it. I'll feed it more often now that I have seen its appetite. Here's a pic of it during feeding.

How do you get the frag off the plug? I've been wondering for a while.
I know some people grind off the post, but I don't want to put a fragplug full of yuck into my system.

If it's well encrusted consider keeping it on the plug. Sometimes they don't pop off easily in one piece. You can easily get rid of the frag plug stalk by crushing it with a pair of pliers if you need too.

I do well with my chalices in indirect light. Literally under a rock in low flow as well.

Wow tweaked, that one is beautiful. Tell us more about it please.

Is it actually growing on the sand bed? Plating out over it? Is it mounted on a larger rock? How long have you had it - how long in that location - did it plate out in that location or did you put a mature colony there?

It's the Strawberry Orange Serbert Chalice I got from a friend half the size. The photo does no justice showing all the colors and oranges etc. I have had it under a rock on BB for months now and it keeps growing.

Here it is under the overhang.

Here's the Crazy Fox after being moved from the frag plug.

How's that fox Coral looking nowadays?

I traded it but I just saw it two days ago in its new home. It's doing well.
I actually picked up a couple of rainbow chalices that I hope to grow into beautiful colonies. One of them looks like WWC Jelly Bean.
