Would like to learn how to get video like this too. Lighting must be huge part

That's crazy sick! it'll take me years upon years to get to that level :(

Check out this video, not directly reef related, but does cover some ocean shots/fish. Truly inspirational. Never posted a vid before, hopefully I did it correctly.

Here's my newest photo. Still needs some editing, but its coming alone nicely.

Nope, no flash. I know a couple of people that shoot flash but personally I always struggle with glare. The thing that sucks is once I edit the picture on Aperture and load it onto photobucket, it looks much worse. Almost as if photobucket reprocesses the picture.
Anyone experience the same thing?

I'm calling this piece: "Eye of the Sting Ray"
It reminds me of a sting rays eye popping out of the sandbed carefully observing for nearby predators. I think I just got a little to creative, LOL.

Yeah PB will recompress your photos. The same way youtube will recompress uploaded videos.

Also, another thing to note, the colors you see in your screen, once viewed on your browser, will switch to web colors. The change in most cases are not drastic, but there is a change. Aperture is mostly a print application, although I am sure it has "save for web" functions, the final image online will not be 100% accurate to what you see on your desktop.

If you want a preview on how its going to look, Photoshop has a save for web function that is very good. Its much easier to tweak compressions there and compare which file formats look the best.
