Looks good. What are the spec of your tank. It's kinda like teasing a kid by not putting information about your tank! BTW - great looking scolymia.

Very nice. That RBTA looks to be in poor shape, however. I would address it ASAP. They can come back from looking like that.

I just realize that you do not have moving inhabitants in you tank - ie fish.

Unless they're all camera shy.

Unfortunatly, that is the bleached color of a RBTA. Mine bleached like that from last year's heat wave. It took a long time, but it is finally regaining its natural red color.

When Tropical Paradise was still around, they had at least one of those in their display tank and they weren't willing to part with it. It was that same color for at least a year since I was keeping an eye on it. TP said Roses came in different color morphs as they come from different areas.

HKSTurbo28: I think I know the Rose you were referring to at TP, that was a long time ago and yea, Eddie didn't want to part with it. I should know, I tried and tried and tried to persuade him to sell it to me but he wanted to keep that one for display.

Yes, it is very possible that it survived a year without coloring up. Mine went about 8 months before starting to color up agan. It went from very nice deep red to that exact color and now back towards red. It still isnt back to its original color yet. And the heatwave was in the middle of last summer.

RBTA can vary in color quite a bit. The color in that photo is a sign of poor health. Mine did that last year, and it could have been due to temp as Jedi mentioned. Came back to normal in my new and improved tank.

Thanks alot guys!

No, i don't feed the coco worm, but was thinking about feeding it phyto-feast.

HKSTurbo28 and jan_dman:
I've also seen the Rose at Tropical Paradise, that's the reason i started searching for one like that in a long time, then i finanlly
found one at Great bay aquarium in Hayward, that's where i got my Rose, it was in their show tank for about 3 months, at first they wouldn't part with it too like Tropical Paradise. I did ask one of the owner at Great bay aquarium as where he got his Rose from? He just told me he got it from a friend, hey...maybe Great bay got it from Tropical Paradise. Who knows?

jedininja and Qwiv:
Do u guys have any pic of your rbta when they were bleached, or you know someone who has it, please post it! cause i just paid a fortune for that rbta and don't want it to come back as regular rbta or die on me. It has been in my tank for two weeks now and never even moved once since then, it never shows signs of stress or shrinking when the light is on, it's been like the pic i showed every day.

Yes, I think I do have a pic of it somewhere. I can look for it later. But it was the same as mine. Never moved when it was bleached. I think since when its bleached, its depending on tank feedings for food and less on light. SO its not searching for a spot with better lighting.

i bought a RBTA really cheap, it was bleached out. i had to put it in to a container because i was afraid my tomatoes would destroy it.
