My first set up

I did. But now a brownish algae has come up. Goes away at night and when the lights are on it comes back. I did a water change and noticed more coming back

Diatoms. I have the same stuff with an immature tank. Supposedly they go away after a while or when you control the phosphate/nitrate levels.

Get rid of the Damsel before it attacks your other fish. I started with one and it would chase everything in my tank as it grew up. Cheap but horrible fish. Don't let a 5 dollar fish kill a 50 dollar fish.

I added about 15lbs of cured rock to my tank as I didn't have enough. Gave me a purple algae on the bottom of the tank.

Pls excuse my terrible putty usage for the corals. Newbie trials and errors. Over all having fun. Learning to keep a solid environment for the fish and coral. Reading as much as I can. Lost my orange star fish, something ate him and an engineer goby in one night. Also I had frogspawn that was growing so damn fast and then died shortly after I added the live rock. I'm happy with what I have because it's beautiful and inexpensive but I'm seeing that with lighting I might not be able to stick with my fluval lights. I will test my water more often at the LFS.

I got this new tank for free from a good buddy, transferred my 30g to this 100g. Lost a few things along the way. But over all things are looking good
