Okay, I have a canon 40d. I am completely lost when it comes to iso and shutter speed. I got a book about it and is still in the process of learning. I am in the process of doing the white box theory to see what will come out. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

They look a pretty blurry. I don't know if you were using a tripod, but your shutter speed was too low not to. ISO was @ 800 and aperture was @ f/2.8 so I wouldn't really want to push the envelope much more anyway.

Turn your pumps off
Clean the glass
Use a tripod
Use live view to manual focus perfectly (select MF on the lens)
Use a timer or cable release

Keep learning about exposure. Understanding it is so so so importiant to use a DSLR properly. I have the same camera and lens as well, so I know they are more than capable! :)
