Whenever i decide to spot feed any small polyp slow eating coral like my Pavona, meteorite coral, or my Hollywood stunners... no matter how much i pre-feed my fish they still all surround the location im attempting to feed & work together as a pack to distract me so one of them can slip in grab a mouthful of food then dash back. Thought i was supposed to be smarter then these criminals! They have no morals or manners when food is involved LOL. Really gets hopeless if i attempt to feed more then 1 coral separated apart as i can no longer then protect with my baster. No issues with my LPS as they feed fast & within a few seconds have eaten what i give them giving the fish little chance of being naughty. The small polyp corals also love to eat brine shrimp & similar sized foods also but it takes about 1/2 hr. for them to consume the foods. I only do this once or twice a week if i have the time to play Warden. Id love to hear about others ventures in doing this & what they do that may help & maybe save time.
Ive got 1 large Banggai cardinalfish, 2 small Ocellaris Clowns, a Royal Gamma, & a Watchman Goby in the display. The Goby is a polite shy feeder obviously from an uppercrust family but all the others all turn into food criminals & band together at feeding time. Its a good fish mix they all really get along swell.
