i've had a powder blue tang, foxface, harlequin tusk, french angel, maroon clown, regal tang, and a koran angel in my 110 for about a year.

the regal has grown. but other than that, none of the others have grown! is that normal?

I agree you have too many large species fish in your tank. No growth can be a number of things. Most causes are over populated tanks. IMO

I'm with the above two people; your cramming those fish in there. You should have at least a 400-500 for all those. The french angel can get almost 2' long.

okay, sorry guys.

but i always hear people getting mad at what other people have in the tank. that's fine. but if they get too big for the tank, i can always trade them in. is that better?

No... thats misled thinking. They won't get to big - they will stop growing. The fact that they aren't growing means they need a larger tank. They will continue growing if they have more space.

I was under the impression that tank size had nothing to do with growth in saltwater fish.I thought they would grow just as big in a 10g tank as they would in a 500 and would be part of the reason why buying a small fish that gets big and putting it in a small tank is a bad idea?

Well, if you have a bunch of big fish in a smallish tank then you are likely to have water quality issues, which will stunt the growth of fish. If you can maintain pristine water then the growth of the fish wouldn't be stunted.

Hmm i would be more inclined to think nutrition is playing a bigger factor..maybe the op is feeding less in efforts to combat water quality problems and the fish are not getting enough to eat.Either way long term outlook is not great regardless if you want to admit it or not.

and i mean that. i do appreciate people responding. alot of nice people on here and all willing to help. sorry, i didn't mean to sound negative.

Your going to stunt the fishes growth, they won't be healthy because you can't feed them enough. They will live shorter lives and likely die of disease. I suggest you get rid of the French and Koran right away.

again, i'm not trying to be negative. but they look pretty happy to me. how do we know that corals don't have feelings? maybe corals hate being stuffed in a crowded tank? i welcome all opinions.
