I just put a bit of food in the tank and they are barley even chasing after the food. I haven't fed them in a few days cause of a nitrate issue. What is going on? They look like they aren't moving much and are gasping.
The temp has been around 77, and I just replaced my aquaclear 20 with a korlia 2. The coral beauty just died I had to stop typing to pull him out. I’ve done about 4 water changes in the last week because my nitrates have been high, so I doubt it would be oxygenation related. I noticed my little chromi has what looks like a red round bite mark on his side but he is the only fish besides my mandarin that seems normal. The coral beauty had slight damage to his fin and they were always perfect before. The only other fish in the tank is a large domino damsel that got bossed around every once in a while by the coral beauty. He is hiding in the back of the tank behind the rocks and looks exhausted too. He is the one that would normally show signs of being bullied by the beauty. Maybe he had enough? I have not been feeding them much the past 2 weeks trying to get nitrates down.
please help.
