My fish only tank has an outbreak

I have a few tanks that is running on a central system that has a outbreak of I think it's either ich or velvet. The fish has a lot of white dots and and white patches on the body and fin. The fish seem to want to scratch their body on the glass. I'm not sure if I'm being clear about the situation, If I'm missing any information in this thread please let me know what other information I need to provide. Can anyone help me, PLEASE?

the white dots and scratching are classic ich signs.

i would suggest SLOWLY lowering the SG to 1.009..like 0.003 every day. once at 1.009, keep that SG for 30 days. the spots should disappear in a few days but treat for the full 30.

Is there a faster way? A guy from a LFS told me to remove the live rocks and use mardel coppersafe, please tell me that this method is ok and it wouldn't make the situation worst.

white dots could be ich or velvet. Hypo only works on ich, not velvet. I prefer Cupramine copper.
