My fry are 6 weeks old..weaning them??

I have 3 erectus fry that have survived so far and are 6 weeks old. As some of you know, this was a great challenge as it was my very first try!! OK...they are still on enriched BBS and I have tried to mix it with cyclopeze and chopped mysis, and they'll have none of it. I find it still sitting or swirling through the tank before my evening water change, which then gets removed. Any suggestions, please? Thank you so much in advance...Laura

I've had the best luck weaning them once they've graduated on to enriched adult brine. Some take the cyclopeze, some don't. I also grow out and offer quarter and half brine forest.

Thanks fishgrrl...but what is " quarter and half brine forest. " And is there a thread that can tell me how to grow out my BBS?

Thank you so much for your time.

Damn, that's what I get posting from my phone at the doctors office. Anyway, that was supposed to say "quarter and half brine shrimp." i.e. I feed them out at 1/4 full size and 1/2 full size.

As for growing them out, I use 4 gallon fish bowls and phytoplankton to grow them out. I'm not very scientific about it, just throw some of the hatched brine in there every day and pull out the shrimp as needed. They tend to crash often so I keep a couple going.

You're funny Tami!! That's OK...I got it now...I think!! I have a 3 gallon tank with ridgid airline...I just did a water change so it does not crash...does it crash often because they are so filthy?? I am enriching with Dan's Feed from SeahorseSorce...

Information on my brine page might help you set up something that will suit your needs if you want to grow out brine shrimp.
I have them in various sizes to suit the needs of various sized seahorses from fry to adult.
GROWING BRINE SHRIMP TO ADULT
For getting them on to frozen I posted on your other thread.

Try putting a couple of pieces of mysis in with the cyclopeeze and brine.. Some take right to the mysis....
