my GHA and aptasia factory

hey guys thought id post some pics of my what started out as temp holding tank and now almost a year old 10 gal

the tank is i beleive a aga 10 gal that my bro in law grabbbed out of the garbage at his work

2 maxi jet power heads w/ hydro spinning thingy's

10-15lbs live rock
sunpod 150w

mother colony of plate corals
aog paly's
pink ring paly's
rpe paly's
lots of other zoo's
7-8 heads poopy colored frogspawn
1 head green pink tips frogspawn
1 head torch
lots of xenia
crappy colored gsp
bunch-o-shrooms
toadstool leather
couple florida rics
probaly something im forgetting

currently having aptasia and gha problems but as of latley not realy motivated to take care of it, dont have a lot of time during the summer basically just water changes and bionic 2 part addittions

im just finishing a 29 display and 20h sump/fuge that will take all the 10 gal stuff and the stuff from fiance's tank untill her nanocube gets back up

Great tank...keep it coming. Have you tried killing the aptasia with Kalk paste? Works good but you have to do it regularly.

Yeah, there isn't any GHA or aiptasia in the wild. Dude!! That is a nice tank!! Who cares if you have some oddballs in the tank. Like Vishnu said, zap the aip's with a kalk slurry.

kalk in a syringe is what ive used i just got lazy the last 2-3 months, u kill 1, 2 more pop up, i need some pepermint shrimp to keep up with the baby ones

Pep shrimp never worked for me. I always relied on CBB's to eradicate my aip's!!

Wow great looking tank. Im glad Ive never had to battle aptasia. You must have gotten them from tony at great pets... he has quite the aptasia and cyano factory going on there..... : ) Great guy though.

Great Tank Man.. I have the same prob with aiptasia, I got some on the chunk of cheato that I got from Tony.. Kill one and find a couple more... They are like rabbits..

hey thanks everyone, if somebody wants something just let me know i can bring stuff to the meeting

the stuff i have a lot of is xenia, plate corals, the green/yellow zoo's and the poopy colored frog spawn
but the other stuff is available if ya got somthing i want to trade, the xenia is available un mounted to anybody that wants it

Turbo...I would love to try a plate coral in my LPS tank....never had one and always wanted to see if they would work for me or not. I have some electric green star polyps (3 inch rock) or freshly cut devils finger leather for trade.

hey moony i was kind of eyeing the gsp in the pic of ur tank so id be up for that, the plate are pretty easy to take care of dont need much light
ill get more pics of them so u can pick wich one ya want

Cool. I shall frag some off for you and mount it if its on fully on the rock already. That thing grows like weed so keep it away from things you dont want to get it on. I will bring things over on Sunday in a cooler. If we are going to do a tank tour then I can pick the plate.

well im not really fragging them per say they grow from a stem and a few months later they fall off and grow a new one. they can be cut into peices but im more interested in just trading/selling the entire plate i have about 4 or 5 ready to go

do have anything interesting to trade or maybe in the near future?

Turbo, If your coming to the meeting, you can check out what I have. I've got some galexia that Id be willing to break a piece off right now if your interested in that. Most of my stuff is still in the frag stage but if something catches your eye I'd be more than willing to frag a piece off for you.
