My Green Haddoni With Pics

So I just got my first S. Haddoni and I am stoked. I got a screaming deal on him and I hope I can revive him. He was rescued from a ten gallon sump that had inadequate lighting. Not to mention half of him was in a shadow caused by tubing down there. So half is bleached a bit but is doing a lot better in my system.

He is aprox 2-3 inches in diameter. He footed immediately in my sand and has not moved. I have had him for 2 nights now and he has perked up tremendously. I feed him a few bit of finely cut fresh Cobia and he "inhaled" them. Very sticky tentacles and an awesome appetite. I am very pleased.

So far so good. I will continue to update its progress. I am about to upgrade to some LEDs and will hopefully acclimate my Nems appropriately.
First two pictures are while acclimating. The 3rd is the second day in my system. Color has increased and the bleached half is looking better. I am going to continue to spoil this beautiful creature. Any questions feel free to ask.
Thanks, Ty

Can someone tell me why my Pics are not showing up? I can email or text them to someone if they can get them to work, thanks.

Good luck with him. Looks like the anemone will become beautiful with some TLC.

2-3 inches is tiny!

Thanks, I feel he is happy. I feed him once a day fresh fish (Cobia, Grouper, Snapper, etc...) so he should grow fairly quickly. In the 4 days he has gain so much color. I am very happy. I will post a pic this afternoon. check back for updates. Thanks, Ty

All perked up after feeding some fresh Cobia. Still doing it well.

Color is definitely coming back!!! And that's under PC! I am upgrading to LEDs this weekend so after I get him acclimated to the LEDs I will post more pictures. Still eating fresh fish every morning! doubled in size in 2 weeks!

Nice color, what LEDs are you upgrading to? Go slow with the increase of light. I run my 2 AI Sols at 45%W, 55%B, 55%RB and my blue haddoni is doing great (20" deep tank)

Thanks for the compliments. Evergrow Lighting. I plan on starting out with them very dim and very slowly increasing to say 50-75% in a month or so. My LFS never carries any "exotic" anemones. Only Condy with occasional LTA. I Love my Haddoni! I pick him up from Craigslist haha more like rescued him as you can see from my pictures

Sounds good. I don't think I am going to increase mine any more than they are. When you do the increases only do 3-5% increases, I know people that have had issues when trying to do 8-10% increases especially when they were getting to the 60-80% range.

Yeah my LFS doesnt carry anything other than BTAs, but someone brought in the blue haddoni guess he was tired of loosing fish.

I guess the guys at my LFS said they had a purple carpet for $200.00 never seen it but if its like their other anemones it was bleached real bad, turned inside out, and/or half dead. I purchased an LTA a month ago and it still has not buried his foot! Just clinging to a rock.... I will try to get some updated pics of my Haddoni in the next few days.

Very nice looking haddoni. It looks healthy. General advice is not to mix haddoni with any other species of anemone.

Thanks Gary. I can't wait till he get 100% recovered from his neglect. You can see his back half is still a bit lighter from the bleaching. And I have multiple tanks. LTA in a different setup. I am going to have multiple LED units so the one over the Haddoni I can be extra mellow with ramping it up.

Good to hear they're in different setups. Continued good luck. It looks like it is well on it's way to being a prized specimen for you.
