My GSP melting with white thing under

See the attached image.

I have my Green Star Polyp melting from the center... from the coral plug.
The gsp did grow in the past couple months about 1 inch out of the plug but it is melting from the center.

The white thing that looks like a worm is actually hard, I scrubed it and it breaks in multiple parts.

Any idea what is happening ???

Could be many things.. or several things put together. Chemicals off, temp off, too much light, too little light. Have you been testing your water? Have you been topping off with fresh water instead of salt?

I agree with Valentini. Without water parameters, lighting parameters, etc, we can't tell you much about what might be happening.

Light is a LED mix of 1:1 Royal Blue + Cool white
Water Parameters:
SG: 1.024
Ca: 440
Mg: 1460
Kh: 10.5
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0
Phosphate: 0
Silicate: 0
Ph: 8.25

Multiple parameters have been tested with 3 different kits.

And yes I top off with fresh water... and all those parameters have been very stable since I started the aquarium 9 months ago.

Any idea about that white worm like thing ??

That white tube is in fact a worm of some sort. (Serpulidae?) As far as your GSP go are you sure they're not being smothered by a sponge of some sort? You migt want to get a brush and see if you can clean that area up a little. If nothing comes off you could knead up a big piece of epoxy and put that in the center. Just press it right up against the healthy part of the GSP and within a month or so they'll start to grow over the epoxy.

Well.. it looks like a worm but it is not really a worm unless such a worm exist.
When I touch it with a stick, it breaks in parts like ceramic.....

Can it really be a worm ? also it doesn't move at all...

ok, I decided to remove the plug and let the part that is attached to the rock (the new growth).
To my surprise the purple mat is easily tearable.
I investigated and AlSimmons, you are right, it is a tube worm. There was a white tube under the plug and 2-3 others.

Now I don't know if the worm was damaging my gsp or if it was something else... the future will let me know...

Thanks all
