My head is swimming - I need to make a decision

LEDs will grow anything the other light systems grow with out problems. They do need more fixtures than the manufacturers recommend and there is a learning curve. With LED being modular you can start with what the manufacturers recommend and add over time, I did.

There are pros and cons to all the light systems. You need to figure out what ones matter to you and go that way. I use LED only, because they hit the sexy fixture and low heat output boxes. These were important to me and my set up plan. If some other parameters are important to you one of the other systems might be a better choice.

With the advance of LED over the past few years and the proven track record of T-5 and Mh I really don't see where there is a wrong answer as long as you buy quality kit.

We're Eastern Ontario. About 4 hours away from the GTA. Very rural. Thanks for the link I may find something worth the drive if I can talk hubby into a road trip :-) He just doesn't get how exciting a new piece of equipment is or why I must have it lol

After finding Dennis's (d2mini) youtube channel, I think I may go ahead with the Hamilton fixture. Those tanks though........wow

One question - would you recommend upgrading it to the Radium and the electronic ballast or is it worth the extra? I can apparently order it online here but they don't offer the Radium upgrade.

Well, if you're four hours from Toronto and at least two from Kingston, you are in the middle of a very beautiful part of the province. No fishy stores for you. :D

I'd still keep an eye on the gtaaquaria site. There are other people out in the boonies like you.

ATI power module t5-led combo... Nicest looking light I've seen in awhile. Personal opinion though I guess. Not exactly cheap but then again neither are most of the other options you've been looking at.

I've used the ATI and it grows acros on the bottom of my 24" tall 220. It's a really great fixture. I have one I might be selling). I'm switching back to halides because I miss the shimmer.

Radiums and m80 ballasts are hard to beat.
