before my tank was above 84.. didnt know what temperature it was at because my strip only goes up to 84 and there was no color on it... and the water was really warm. now with this home made chiller, its at about 78-80
IS THAT JUST A REGULAR FAN THAT YOU PUT SIDEWAYS? I BELIEVE YOU CAN GET THOSE CLIP ON ONES AT WALMARTAND PUT SOME ON...I BELIEVE THEY ARE LIKE 7-10 BUCKS...I BELIEVE SO BECAUSE I BOUGHT SOME!!!! HAHA
Fish are going to be swimming a little funny if the "chiller" falls in. Sure hope the breaker does it's job if your "chiller" gets wet.
Might look a little better if you put one on the other end to balance out the look.
yea whatever works...that just looks very scary.....and you dont want anything or yourself electricuted...maybe from splashing or what not..I actually bought some yesterday....ill show u what it looks like...ill post pics.....im at work right now so maybe later on tonite
And add a piece of eggcrate under the fan, that rests on the ledges of the tank. It won't interfere with the airflow, but will keep the fan from falling in.
I use two computer case fans on my canopy over the water surface, four computer fans on my MH lighting fixture, and one larger fan outside the side of the tank when necessary. Getting air flow behind the tank really helps, as it's against an exterior wall.
I have 4 computer PC fans installed in my canopy with some cool effects. Check this video out I almost fell on my *** as I started backing up. Anyway heres my tank as of 5/19/06 11:00pm PST
Anyway the 4 PC fans are hooked up to a 12v power supply.
