Lookin good Simon. Great growth and color on that BN. What, if any, changes have you seen in the past 2 weeks since starting AAHC?

Thanks Iwan & Travis - I really do appreciate you sharing your hybrid approach Iwan - thanks again.

On the hystrix - some of the polips on the inside branches facing upwards (ie not the growth tips) where white - I thought it maybe bleaching from the center. Since using AAHC 1 drop per 100l the colour has returned - phew:-) ! Also the porities seems to be encrusting faster. I was dosing that at night - but have just changed to daytime dosing on Iwan's recomendation to see if AAHC has an effect on PE then ( Idid doe both day and night but that caused an increase in the film on the glass). With zeo CV - the color of the plating montis has improved another notch and the digitas and plating are growing faster.

No changes observed yet in the acros.

Cheers

AMAZING

I have not given any trace elements for a long time. I was convinced that the colors of my corals through this have got better. The company Nightsun has asked me whether I want to test her products ( trace elements). Of course I was sceptical. However, I have given my ok. See your pictures and compare!

I look forward to the further development. I guess this already looks very interesting!
You'll find the company under: www.nightsun.ch

Interesting....

From the pics the hysterix definately looks better 'after'. I think I prefer the colors in the 'before' shots of the other 2 comparisons - were these posted in the right order?

Do you have any more before after pics of individual corals? Maybe that would help show the differences better?

I checked the web link out and it is only the introduction that is in english - pls could you let me know what you'd added from that range? - Have you stopped using any of the zeo elements?

There is a dealer in Basel  'Mutti - bitte kanst du ein bischen einkaufen gehen......'

Cheers

Simon

The colors seem metallic. The differences are not effective so extremely on the photos yet. The colors generally are simply more flourescent.
I give the other products like usual. However, I measure the trace elements out really very lowly.

the first photos look better quality so it is hard to tell if the product worked.

Iwan the photos do look photo shopped. do you have photos straight from the camera.

do you have shrimps?? i noticed you got hawkfish, do they eat them and have the hawkfish jumped from your tank.

The only difference I see is the after pictures have a blue tint to them, as if the white balance wasn't set right.

Hard to get these things spot on a week apart from different locations, but taking that into account, I don't think you should really be able to spot a change in only a weeks time.

Your before pictures appear beter colored to me.

Not trying to take anything away from your suceess, but I was thinking the same thing.

although it seems like you are getting better growth with the trace elements it also seems like the inhabitants had a little bleaching since they are alot lighter.

alien I don't think anyone is saying that it isn't an awesome tank. Certainly not in my case, but I do feel that the before pictures looked better than the after. At such a short time interval and with so many variables in photography, it's not an assessment that holds any weight. Just the way it looked to me.

Iwan's tank is way beyond anything I have ever seen in person including the beautiful reefs I have actually dived on.

Well, I'm not sold on these products discussed, but I'm intrigued by the change in color of the birdsnest posted. It makes me want to try it, but then again I don't want to.

What kind of money are you spending, Simon? I have a 280g reef, so it would be nice to know how much it costs per week dosing for that sized tank.

Hey Mark

I put up a calulator on page 18 or 19 of this thread so people could figure for themselves- but as you did such a charming post about your childhood in Switzerland and my Mum is in Basel at the moment- I'v done a little homework for you:D

You have 280 gal = 1120 lts - lets say 1000lts net.

The core product is Prodibiodigest - 1 amp is good for 1000lrs each fortnight - The smallest pack is 6 amps which will last you 3 months.

You will need 5 amps per 2 weeks TPIM (less if your net volume is less) = 30 amps

You will need 2-3 amps Reef Booster per week = @ 30 amps

At the price I buy for in europe this comes to 59 euros or approx 69 USD for 3 months supply. 0r $6 pw. Someone is importing these to the US now - but I dont know what he is charging.

Add to this 50mls of Zeo CV @ $55 and 50mls of zeo AAHC @ $45 from the US distributor of Zeo = $169 or $14 per week all in. This would give you the basic tools to start down this bit of the 'Iwan Method' and give it a 12 week trial.

However the US Zeo prices are way more than the european prices, +55% and +38% more respectively. These price differences do not include minus 17.5% EU sales tax discount when you export from the EU - or shipping charges.

PM me if you want details of European suppliers I use.

I should say for the zeoland viewers watching that I have no commerial interests in these products - which is easily checked - I'm just doing a favor from one hobbyist to another based on an unsolicited enquiry [End of legal note;).]

Cheers for now

no effense guys but I think that tank looks amazing!! :D

-alien

No offense taken alien - this is the best reef tank I have ever seen - I have dived in the caribean St. Lucia, the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, and off Guadacanal in the Soloman Islands. The Soloman Islands was superb! Iwan's tank is better than that even.

The comments refered to the effect of the Nightsun products after 7 days. After doing some further investigation - its seems B Mohr gives Nightsun the thumbs up:thumbsup: which is a major major endorsment in the German speaking world, (after he tried T5s and got good results - so we all did)- so I'm really looking forward to seeing the results on Iwans' reef - 2 months seems to be the point at which current users look back and go wow.

I have a 45G tank. Is it too small to use the products?

No its not too small - just nice and cheap to run;) and you can afford to place only the very nicest of pieces in it. - The only thing you will need to do is use half a vial of reef booster weekly and store the other half in the firdge for next week. The zeo elements will last for a long long time.

Lucky you:D

2 of the prodibio products are $12.99 and the other of the 3 recommended is 13.99. if you want to figure out which just check out www.robsreef.com . all of these contain 6 ampules and larger quantities were cheaper per ampule.
I am not rob nor do I know him or anyone working for in or around that store. this is where I ordered mine from and should have it early next week. I did talk to him on the phone when I ordered and he seems very nice.
trythechi
I would be interested in the lower cost zeo products if they will ship them to the states for me.

I think I see what Iwan see's in the after pictures which I think looks great. on the right side there is that yellowish /greenish stag that in the first pic is beautiful but after comparing the 2 it makes the before look somewhat dingey yellowish. then in the after it is a more brilliant green color. the red montipora looking thing on the right doesn't look as deep which in person may or may not look better. besides the stag I am torn since I like some things better and others not so much. all in all I can only dream of this tank.
