Well I just arrived home and what was on my porch? My new Icecap reef illuminations! Now to go unbox it and play with it. It sure weighs a ton! 40lbs.The new tank will arrive on Monday.Kinda hard to enjoy now that i was told my dog has cancer.)-:

i wish you the best with your dog as they certainly are mans best friend . i have had two personal experiences with dogs and cancer and they made it through and lived normal lives after treatment . we are very close to Cornell university which specializes in cutting edge cancer treatments . find a good place and bring him or her there as there is so many options out there today . keep the faith and the fish tank can wait but please get him some treatment asap and i do wish you the best .

I currently have 440wt VHO's going on my tank and really got the RI fixture for the new 110gal bowfront comming Mon. I will not be setting that tank up for awile. I cant wait that long to see what this fixture is all about so want to put it on my existing tank. The tank has alot of softies in it.Will they fry? I have never had MH before.Start with the Halides on for an hour each day and add an hour every couple of days?

yes go slow and if you can either raise them a few inches it will help then lower them an inch per week until you get them where you want them . MH lights penetrate very well and be carefull .
what type of cancer does you dog have ?

I will do that.I will set up the fixture sat. nite. I am not sure of the type of cancer yet. They will do surgery on tues. They are a little worried caus it is so close to the bone,of all the places it could have grown it chose to grow on her only back leg. she is 3 legged so amputation is out pretty much.spoiling her rotten and taking lots of pictures and kisses.( more than normal) I hope something can be done.
