I would like to start by letting you guys know that I am not a pro by any means and that this is my first time owning a wave making unit of any kind so bear with me and understand if maybe I am not hitting all the crucial and/or important details that might be needed when reviewing something like this. Also please excuse my sorry picture taking skills"¦ I need to work on that..
I will start with the unboxing so you guys can see how everything is packaged"¦
Very nicely packaged

The back of the unit
The front of the unit with the bottom knobs for flow/speed control and the top knob for pulse control and the set button
K4 powerhead
I took one of my old blown K4's and set it side by side with the new unit so you can see that there is no size difference at all"¦ By the way the new unit is on the left and the old one if on the right.
The unit powered on and showing that it is alternating flow speeds between the 2 powerheads
It has an Alternate mode, Synchronous mode (Both powerheads running at the same flow at the same time), Food mode and Night mode which you can set manually or buy the additional photo electric cell so that it can automatically turn down the flow when the light turn off every night and turn it back up when the lights come on in the morning. I forgot to order the photo cell so I cannot comment on how accurate it is but I have heard really good things about it.
I already tried the Food mode and it does work very well, you can see the flow decrease and in 5 minutes it picks up again, also you can press the set button to cancel the food mode at anytime if the food is already gone.
It took almost no time for it to start kicking up all kinds of things in my tank so it was nice to see all that get sucked up by the filter. No dead spots at all so far it moves EVERYTHING around for sure and I don't even have it set to the strongest setting.
Pros:
Easy to use
Very sturdy and well built
Very easy to install
Powerheads are the same size they were in the previous generation (Both pro and con)
Very quiet once running
Cons:
That clattering sound when you first power the units on is still present
Same size powerheads, I just wish they would make them smaller but just as strong
It doesn't have more variety of wave modes like you see in other units
The Photo cell should have been included in the package instead of having to shell out another 30 bux
Overall I would give this unit an 8.5 out of 10 and would definitely recommend it.
Hopefully this will work but here are 2 videos so you can see what it looks like in action. One video with some GSP's and one video of some Blue clove polyps"¦ keep in mind that they were a little stressed because of all the stuff that got kicked up when the powerheads came on because I had been without both K4's for about 2 weeks now.
