First of all, I just wanted to thank Karen Brittain (the breeder) for her time and generosity. Karen had contacted me a few weeks ago and read that I had been having problems with my pair of c/b Latz. It was basically WW3 between them as they really hated each other. I had to set up a nano tank to separate them as they surely would have fought until one had killed the other. Karen asked me if I wanted a smaller one to see if it would pair up with one of the Latz. She wanted me to have the full experience of a bonded pair and offered to send me one for free!! I was floored at her generosity and her kindness. I immediately accepted and received the smaller fish last week. I introduced him to the main tank after a few days in isolation as I wanted the little guy to regain his strength. The first few days were quite perilous as the larger Latz would not let the smaller one near its anemone. I held out hope because for the most part, the larger one would tolerate the presence of the smaller one, except when it would swim close to the Ritteri. The smaller one never gave up as it would stay within 5-6" of the anemone, risking injury from the the larger clown. Well, to make a long story short, I awoke this morning to find both fish inside the anemone!! This is probably one of the most satisfying events that I have experienced in reef keeping. I have always wanted a pair of Latezonatus clowns but couldn't justify them due to the various issues others have experienced from wild caught pairs. After 15+ years of reefkeeping, I finally have a bonded pair of Latz!! It doesn't get much better than this.:love2: I'll get some pics soon. Thanks Karen!!!!
