Hi
for half a second,I had the bag in my tank,on its side reached in the bag pulled them out and right into the water.Hes not moving around to much today, hes down in some rocks and it looks like one of things is falling off.Theother one is not looking so well either, today he has little black spots all over him and his bottom is no longer a bright orange.I took 2 1/2 hours to aclimate them as i know there sensiteve.they both looked great the day before crawling all around like crazy.mY water is good no nitrates etc.
thanks

you're never supposed to subject them to air, they are VERY sensitive. I've seen LFS people just pick them up out of the tank with their hands and drop them into a shipping bag, they hardly ever survive...........

I couldnt think of how else to get them into my tank without getting water from the bag in there.I figured for a flash second they couldnt get hurt.I would imagine during shipping there constanly exposed to air as well with the water in the bag spalshing around which cant help either.I got them from reefermadness so im sure those guys knew not to expose them.I didnt find out(of course) til after i got them that they usally dont live to long in a tank.I guess all i can do know is hope for the best.
Thanks for responding.

in a mature tank with pristine water quality and acceptable temps they do well when properly acclimated and introduced to the system. you have to remove them from the bag with it under the water, you won't be dumping all the contents of the bag into the system just submerge it and take the star out and let it drop into the tank.
