my little experiment/looking for 400w ballasts

As I mentioned a while back, I bought some custom LAIII's that hold two mogul sockets. I was hoping the light from the two halides would blend and I would have the best of both worlds, par and color. It didn't work, as the color is very polarized. The front of my tank is blue and the back is yellow.

Given the options of looking for another set of reflectors that work better or going all radiums, I decided to change to all radiums. It'll look better and 4 400w radiums in LAIII's should be plenty of light.

If anyone is looking to sell their 400w ballasts I'll be buying a set soon.

Well, here's a pic of the tank with radiums on only. Looks good from the front as that's where all the light is. I'll add another set of radiums or a set of reeflux and that will light the back.

Thanks guys. I was so upset when they didn't work out like I wanted. It will look all around better when I replace the Iwasaki's with 20k's. Right now the side shot would tell the story. The back is dark with the radiums only or yellow with the Iwasaki's on.
