My LMB and my Crocea

LMBs and Clams sometimes do not get along. I've had this LMB for a little over a year. Thus far, he has never touched any of my three clams. In fact, one of his favourite perches is on the mantle of a crocea. He just kinda sits there and watches us in the living room. The crocea has gotten used to him being there and never reacts to him any more.

Here he is;

nice :)

the LMB gets a bad rap because he will pluck at algae along the edge of the clams shell, causing stress. looks like your crocea doesn't mind though.

love the pics.

sadly my LMB (my avatar) died shortly before getting my first clam. once i get my tang out of my tank, im going to get another, i just hope it behaves, i have 3 clams now.

I've had this LMB for about year and two months now. My girls have named him "Grumpy".

He lives with a Bristle Tooth Tang who was in the tank first. Even after a year, the tang will put the run on him. Does not seem to phase him though. A real chase only happens now once in a while. Other times, the tang will just nose up to the LMB and they have a staring contest. Yet other times, they play a leisurely game of chase around the rocks.

Both are good and fat. The LMB has never taken prepared foods, so I make sure I feed the tank enough that some algae grow.

As for the clams, I would not mind if the Grumpy would clean up the HA underneath the mantle. It is the only spot HA grows in my tank.

great to hear, they have a lot of character, one of my favourites.

if he won't take regular prepared food try a little Nori, mine loves it and will steal a piece whenever i put it in for my purple tang. IME they don't go after GHA unless it is very new and short.
