My mantis cleaning house

Last count I have 2-3 mantis shrimp in my tank. One of them has become rather brazen and really starting to come out more and more

Last night he started to build a new nest. He let me video him

Hehe. You should have posted a warning about the Redskins game in the background at the start. It was bad enough living through it once!

Watching them work is fascinating. I haven't seen mine in about a week but I know from the clicks he is still around.

if you start feeding him a couple times a week he will become quite fun to watch. Just put a tiny bit if shrimp lightly on the tip of a skewer or use tweezers in front of his hole. He'll start to come out pretty far for it. It makes them easier to catch if you want him out down the road as well.

Madratter - sorry about opening reviving bad memories. They are fast becoming one of my favorites. They do not seem to be bothering anything else, just munching on some barnacles

noahm - I have started feeding them, but sometimes they are hard to find. They seem to be keeping seveal nesting places, and roam from place to place.
