My Mantis Eats Pellets! Please Advice!

Hello:

I have a 5" peacock along with him I have a LARGE (about 5-6") Velvel Damsel which I normally feed big size Spectrum Thera +A (lg fish formula) pellets...

Yesterday my peacock started eating the pellets I was dropping in for the velvel damsel! I was very surpriced so today I fed the fish again, and AGAIN, the peacock nabbed 3-4 pellets and ate them right in front of my eyes!

Anyway... Is this bad? should I be more careful and try to avoid the peacock from eating pellets and only give him the frozen krill that he always eats? Would it be OK if I start shifting my peacocks diet to pellets and only feed him live foods live crabs and frozen foods like Krill sparingly?

Please advice,

Estefano

Food is food I would think.
As long as he gets some variety to make sure he gets all the nutrients he needs should be ok.

No problem, all my shrimps also eat pellets. In any case give the poor guy a chunk of shrimp or scallop once in a while.

ITs okay for you mantis to eat pellets as long as its quality saltwater fish food.
My peacock eats flake food, snails, crabs, and shrimp.

it's not the best staple food for a mantis, but certainly no harm will come of it. They are made to be able to eat just about anything. still, the ideal staple food is some kind of marine flesh.

Not sure of the levels but thought it might be worth noting,
Thera+ a contains copper sulfate.
I'm assuming this might not be the best thing long term...

Rich.
