My mantis has disappeared!

So Tim would block off his hole in the rock so no one could see him, so i moved the rock he lived in down to the sandbed. Well now he's nowhere to be found and i want to make sure he's eating. I have some red-legs in the tank, will he eat those?

Sry if this didn't make sense, i'm tired.

He's probably ok. Maybe molting or just hiding out. I didn't see mine for a long time when I put him in. Wasn't even sure if he was alive. Just wait and see. You might want to throw a couple snails in too.

dude never move the rock me is molting it sounds like he but the rock so he cant get hurt wjen they molting the shell is super soft so let him be

Mine too ... she closed up her burrow to molt and hasn't come out since. That was two weeks ago ... I'm getting worried that her molt didn't go well :(

I was worried the first time Tim disappeared as well, but he came back out after a week. When his tank was shocked by an exploded heater he stayed holed up for longer while presumably healing and molting.

No telling when they'll come back out sometimes.

Regarding the red-legs: I have had no luck enticing Tim into eating the larger red or scarlet hermits (or rather the red-legs have had great luck - depending on ones perspective). For being almost universally described as fearsome destroyers of anything living, I think they really like meals that don't fight back. Kind of like me. I prefer my meals already cooked and plated instead of free-roaming and armed. ;)

well i want to put something in the aquarium that he can roam out and beat up and eat when i'm not around. Any suggestions?
