wow i love that color!!! and i have a question, is a pistol shrimp a type of mantis? it makes snaps and it goes back quickly, likes to burrow, but it doesnt attack my fish, any ideas/any1 know the answer?

no, pistols and mantises are totally different. I'm lucky to be able to have both. Both are a lot of fun!

im gettin a mantis this week, i also have a pistol very cool shrimp, what kind of heater could i use for a 5g tank on a smasher? also what temp does the water need to be at?

Dr. Roy or whomever else might be able to answer, is that coloring pretty common in that species? i mean i know there's variances in coloring, but it that bright blue/red accents normal?

just wondering, eventually i plan on a smasher and would like one that is as brightly colorful as this one is.

most of the time finding a mantis available online is a bear, but even then most of the time there's no images.
