That's too funny Scott I was thinking the samething.

Better?

aaahhhh, oooooohhh. That's nice.

I think there is less maintenance with nothing in the tank.

I am thinking of going that route instead of using the Prodibio, since it is still GD BACK-ORDERED!!!

Thanks!

How long has it been back ordered? Are your diatoms going away yet? Mine are almost gone.

An update on the fans. They seem to be working fine and I like how it's quieter on top. However, the chiller does run quite a bit so the next time I have the canopy off to put 2 more VHOs in I'm going to put a 4" Icecap fan in each end, blowing in.

I reduced the photoperiod and that helped a lot. I still have them on thesand and foam wall, but it has not gotten any worse.

I think the fans blowing in will make a huge difference. I did not have good results when I tried using exhaust fans in the past. I have you thought of truning the exhaust fans over to blow in. This may do the trick without having to suck more power.

Mike the tank and stand turned out great. Make sure you keep a thread with updated pics from time to time so we can see how everything does in there.

Great job on that. I really like the visible refugium. I find I stare in to mine almost as much as the tank itself. Cool that it fits under the counter that way.

Thanks! It's nice that the T-5s are so low-profile. It let me build the fuge lid really short. It's just a piece of plywood with trim.

I've solved the last of my issues. I put the auto-topoff reservoir inside the fuge stand, but since the stand had to be so short, it didn't leave much room to fill the reservoir.

I quickly learned that I didn't like pumping water from a bucket through the little gap. I needed a way to just dump the water in.

So this is what I did. I used the 3 drawer Sterilite bin to the right of it. I put a bulkhead in the top drawer with a hose that comes down into the reservoir.

So now all I have to do is pull out the top drawer and dump the water in.

Parts storage and water top off all in one! Nice! Is the bulkhead at the very bottom of the drawer? Do you have a little bit of water always left in the drawer?

:) Yeah, the bulkhead is as low as it will go and still allow the drawer to slide in and out, so there's always about an inch of water left in the drawer. It's just RO water, so I don't see any problems with letting it sit in there.

I guess it's not the best system in the world, but it works!

How's this for plumbing??

How's this for plumbing??

I got the Little giant mounted and running, super quiet!
Plus I thought this was a great plumbing shot. :smokin:

That little giant is a nice pump were did you get it? I was told only the cool people can get there hands on those things. Maybe one of these days I too will be lucky enough to get a hold of one. LOL Anyways nice plumping job. If I would have done it there would be 180 gallons of water on the floor.

Well, I think this thing is finally complete. I got magnet mounts for all the Seios, my noise and heat problems are solved with different pumps, I got my calcium reactor parts, and I solved the potential flood problem by putting a check valve on the closed loop low pressure side. (without power, the CL was backflowing slowly into the overflow and draining into the sump, never stopping.)
