I just stared my first 2.5 tank. I have an overdlow in it that i put in myself along with a 10 watt 50/50 soon to add another.
This is shwoing the over flow and the filter. The right side of the filter is in the small compartment soon to have LR and cheato. It sucks up the water putting it in the main tank. Then the flow pushes it through the overflow and back.
This is the light fixture i made. I took two outlet bulb holders and glued/taped/stringed together. the cords run out the back with switches for easy access to turn on/off
this is a picture with one light on. I am going to petco today or tomorrow to get another 50/50 giving it 20 watts so 8 watts a gallon.
I am going to frags in this tank so they can mature and i can put them in my 20 and 12. the entire back is spraipainted and so are the sides and bottom.
Any suggestions on what to do next would be good. Im thinking of making something to cover the top so you can't see the bulbs.
