These are just suggestions, so please don't take offense.

  • In the bottom of your cabinet you might want to consider building/installing a water-tight tray to contain inevitable spills.
  • You would do well to install an access panel about two feet tall above the outside front of your tank to allow access from that side.
  • In your sump, you will get better water treatment if you have the drain flow through one or two filter socks before going to your skimmer. These will require replacing every two to three days.

no offense taken.. I very well know whatever you guys will say, will be for betterment of my project!

Water tight tray may not be possible for a 6 foot base.. but I will install a lining as per your suggestion
Umm.. I have full access to the tank from back side.. dont want to mess with the clean look of the front..
Prefilter will be installed but as a hang-on chamber for better maintenance..

Thanks

time for some updates..

After quite a long wait the live rocks arrived..

The skimmer in the picture is a WEIPRO 2016.. I am doing in-tank primary curing with cheaper salt before I can finally put them in scape and flood the tank with Instant ocean Reef crystal salt-water mix.. This will allow me to make higher water changes and make curing process shorter..
I am still waiting for SRO XP2000I cone skimmer to arrive before I can make the sump, so that it fits perfectly inside with all the plumping in place..

The water got so dirty after adding rocks that the skimmer started producing foam almost instantly..

There are also 4 powerheads for circulation of water at 4 corners to help cleaning process faster
