My new 375 gallon DT / 550 gallon system HELP!

Hello all! As some of you may know, I purchased a 375 gallon tank here in Florida a little while back. Unfortunately the home we had setup to move into with the new tank turned out to be a scam...and the place we settled on as our backup would not fit the tank into the home. Or so I thought...this is where you all come in. ;)

The tank is 96"x30"x30" but my ceilings are only about 84" and so I'm not able to get the tank in and stand it up...as I would with a 6 foot tank. Also about 3' inside the front door is a wall, so it's NOT coming in that way.

There is a garage which would work, but the door from the garage to the house is small...30" exactly and that's if I take the door trim off. But the stand is 31.5". Won't work there either. I have sliding glass doors in my bedroom that would work, but then the door coming out of the bedroom to the house is angled and you guessed it, there's a wall about 3 feet out that won't let me turn the tank into the house.

And this is the same doorway out of the bedroom, but a close up:

I don't want it setup in my garage, nor my bedroom...

As bad as I want my tank, I've been trying to figure this out without tearing a wall out to get it in. I post here hoping some of you have fought with large tanks and can help me out.

The ONLY thing I can think of is going through a window. There is a pair of windows in my daughter's room that are HUGE. They are 4'x4' and there are 2 of them side by side. They are made by PELLA and I'm hoping someone can help me figure out how to maybe take one out and get the tank and stand through the window. There is a double door to that bedroom so if I can get it through the window, it's into the house! I'm NOT handy however and don't know how to take the windows out. The bottom part folds right out for cleaning, but I haven't figured out how to get it all the way out...same goes for the top window. These windows are VERY new and should come out, I'd think. Also, I need the molding piece in the middle to come out so I'd have the whole 4' to work with.

Does ANYONE know how to take windows out? lol Oh and they have to go back in and look like nothing ever happened. ;)

Also, the windows are only 3 feet off of the ground. The window is accessible from the backyard, so technically a truck could be backed right up to the window and the tank slid in from there. I was going to build a wooden frame so it will literally slide into the house on this frame and protect the bottom of the window frame.

Does all of this sound crazy? Anyone with a large tank that has run into similar problems please chime in! All the help I can get would be great.

Thanks!

what a dilemma...i was going to replace windows in my house at one point. so i youtubed it. i saw a good video on removing the old window...but can't find it now. good luck.

you would have to cut out all of the caulk around the outside of the window. then remove the screws holding the window frame into the wall. make a cart with wheels to slide the tank directly onto and move to where its final location will be. if the tank is glass you will prob. need 6 people to be safe. if your unsure of the window call an authorized pella dealer tell them what you need and have an installer call you. if you take it out and reinstall yourself it may void your warranty on that window. might be worth the 60-100 bucks.

it should work with the window access. and it is as simple as unscrewing the window frame and cutting the silicone between the frame and the wall. and the tank cart is a very good idea. i'll keep an eye on the large tank forums to see how it turns out. good luck

I should have been more specific about taking the windows 'out'...

What I meant was to just take the 2 windows out of the frame and leave the frame in tact. When I said I'm not handy, I wasn't kidding. I'll try youtube and see what I can come up with. If it comes down to taking the whole window (frame and all) out and then putting it back in, is there anyone near me handy enough to help with such a project? I live in Port Richey.

hahaha, looks familiar! What were the dimensions of your 390? What do you think the chances of putting this through my window are?
