those are rock lifts made out of acrylic. The idea is to elevate the rock in order to have good flow under them and not let dietris (sp?) settle underneath it. Some people make them out of pvc but I got a guy in oregon to make it for me out of the acrylic so it would be invisible

Thats what I figured. But they look tall. Is the sand going to cover it? If so thats one deep sand bed. Great idea though. Do alot of folks do that? I have herd of egg crate to lift the rock off the glass but I have not seen that.

well total height of the lifts are 4" from the glass to the top of the pegs. I will cover the base and just leave the pegs exposed. So Im planning atleast 1" of sand.... maybe more. The beauty of the pegs is that they are removable and I can shorten them if I wanted to.

Here is a question. With a 600 GPH overflow and all those returns how are you increasing the flow of the system over 600gh?

it wont matter I believe that is a close loop, Nice tank Armando, I see lots of frags coming in! :D

Im going to have roughly 600 gph going through the sump but within the main tank it will be 4200 gph. Yeah I do drill my own tank since I dont want to pay all that much money for each hole. It wouldve almost cost me as much as I paid for the tank to get it drilled at 20 bux a pop.

Do you do that with a drill press or a hand drill? and where did you get your hole saw bits (know of any good deals on them) also do you use that diamond carbide dust when you drill?...all the questions because I have a tank I would like to drill like yours and do a closed loop but a $20 a pop..... You know
